Carol Murphy, LPCC
Carol is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who offers compassionate, strength-based counseling to clients of all ages—teens to seniors—both in-person and virtually. She provides a welcoming and affirming space for individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and People of Color.
As a trained EMDR therapist, Carol specializes in trauma work, utilizing a psychodynamic assessment approach to help clients navigate the emotional aftermath of traumatic experiences. She views trauma as a soul wound, understanding that it can deeply affect one's sense of safety and self. Many clients who have experienced trauma report feelings of shame, helplessness, powerlessness, and intense fear, and Carol works to reduce or eliminate the symptoms that disrupt daily life.
Carol deeply empathizes with clients who are struggling with distressing symptoms, and she is honored to work with those who trust her with their sacred stories. Her goal is to create a safe space where clients can begin their healing journey.
Originally from the Bronx, Carol is still adjusting to life in Ohio. Outside of her work, she enjoys cake, tattoos, yoga, spending time by Lake Erie with her dog Mabel, and indulging in British mysteries. She’s also not shy about swearing when the moment calls for it.
If you’re ready to start the healing process, Carol would be honored to support you on your journey.

Michele Hawkins McHenry, LPCC (Ohio), LCPC (Maryland)
Michele is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with decades of experience helping people of all ages (teens to seniors) feel supported, understood, and more confident as they move forward. Her background as both a therapist and a college and international athlete and coach has shaped the way she works, meeting people where they are and creating a space where they feel comfortable, safe, and truly heard. Her areas of expertise are helping with anxiety, depression, life transitions, overcoming performance obstacles, and communication/relationship struggles.
In the first session, you’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy and start exploring both your strengths and the challenges you’ve been carrying. From there, you’ll work together to set goals and create a plan that feels clear, supportive, and right for you.
Her style is warm, honest, and collaborative, with some humor when it’s helpful. She knows growth can take time, and it isn’t always a straight path—but you don’t have to figure it out on your own. If you’re feeling stuck, going through a big life change, or ready to learn new skills and see things in a different way, she’d be glad to support you.
Accepting most major insurance plans, self-pay rate is $150/session.
